A Contrastive Analysis of English and Persian Word Formation Processes

The present article try to discuss different word formation processes account of English and Persian. Words are considered as one of the most important components of language. There are some strategies by which new lexical items are formed in each language. The process of word formation is frequently used to add to the lexical repertoire of all languages. In order to arrive at this goal, we will examine such morphological strategies as “derivation”, “compounding”, “blending”, “abbreviation” and so forth.
