Abstract

In my thesis, I explore the innovative applications of smart irrigation systems and their significant contributions to sustainable water management in agriculture. I begin by introducing the relevance of these technologies in modern agricultural practices, framing the central question of how they can enhance sustainability. I delve into technological advancements such as IoT integration and AI applications that optimize irrigation efficiency and resource allocation. Through case studies, I illustrate successful implementations and the challenges faced by farmers, offering insights into scalability and adaptability across various contexts. Despite the promising potential of smart irrigation systems, I also examine their limitations, including high initial costs and accessibility issues. I conclude with recommendations for future research and policy initiatives aimed at promoting the adoption of these transformative technologies to ensure a sustainable agricultural future.
