Investigating the Impact of Fiscal Policies on Deconstructivist Architectural Design with a Welfare-Oriented Approach in Iran

This study investigates the impact of fiscal policies on deconstructivist architectural design with a welfare-oriented approach in Iran. Deconstructivist architecture, by transcending conventional forms, holds significant potential for enhancing urban quality of life and strengthening cultural capital. However, its implementation faces financial and economic challenges. Adopting an interdisciplinary perspective and a descriptive–analytical method, data were collected through questionnaires, semi-structured interviews, and case studies. The statistical population included 60 architects and financial experts from Tehran, Isfahan, Shiraz, and Mashhad.
Findings revealed that fiscal policies play a crucial role in the acceptance and success of deconstructivist designs. An independent T-test indicated a significant difference between the perspectives of architects and financial experts (Sig = 0.03), and a strong positive correlation was confirmed between fiscal policies and the acceptance of innovative design (r = 0.71, p < 0.01). Qualitative analysis also highlighted successful projects such as the Nature Bridge and Tehran Book Garden as examples of integrating smart fiscal policy with welfare-oriented design.
The study concludes that aligning fiscal policies with architectural design goals can pave the way for creating more humane and welfare-driven urban spaces. This requires interdisciplinary frameworks and collaboration among architects, urban managers, and financial policymakers.
